Functional Currency Converter: For ACCPAC Advantage Series

Overview

This product allows you to change the functional currency of an ACCPAC advantage series database. The functional currency is also known as the base or home currency. This product will not change the currency assigned to customers, vendors or bank accounts as these are source currencies not functional currencies. Separate products are available for changing customer and vendor currencies. If converting to the euro currency, you can also have the old functional currency become the reporting currency so that you can print G/L reports in both the old and new currencies.

What Does and Doesn’t Get Converted

Generally all functional amounts in master files, posted transactions, history and statistics are converted. Unposted batches are not converted so make sure that day end processing has been run and all batches are posted prior to running the conversion. Posting journals are not converted. Posting journals should maintain an accurate historical record of the transactions that took place and should never be modified.

Multicurrency -
You must have a multicurrency edition of ACCPAC Advantage series as multicurrency must be turned on for the Functional Currency Converter to work.

All databases supported by ACCPAC Advantage Series are compatible.

	The Functional Currency Converter retails for USD$3,000 for a single database licence.

Mozambique Currency Revaluation

Dingosoft has developed a currency revaluation utility for Accpac users in Mozambique. The Mozambique Metical is being divided by 1000 on July 1^st this year. Dingosoft was asked to provide a solution for Mozambique users following our success with the euro currency conversion.

These types of utilities are not as simple as they sound. You can’t just go and divide every amount by 1000 as you will end up with rounding errors throughout the database. You have to start with the detail level and then manually recreate all the data above that. This requires an intimate knowledge of the Accpac database.
